Property tax appeals in Ohio
Ohio is on our waitlist: we're not filing here yet. You can still ask us to look at a property, and we'll tell you what we find and whether we can act on it.
Appeal deadline
March 31
The usual deadline. The notice your county sends always governs.
Appeals go to: County Board of Revision, then the Board of Tax Appeals
How the process typically works
- The owner files a valuation complaint with the county Board of Revision by March 31.
- The board holds a hearing and issues a decision.
- A decision can be appealed to the Ohio Board of Tax Appeals or the county court of common pleas.
What we’d need from you
- A signed authorization naming your representative on the complaint.
- Evidence the county may not have: a recent sale, an appraisal, or the property's income and expenses.
